"The Republicans are being naive if they don't see the DREAM Act as the vehicle by which the Democrats are going to push for the extension of general amnesty for the whole illegal alien population currently in the United States," Ray said.
"The most troubling thing is that not only is amnesty a bad idea, but nobody seems to be addressing: What about the illegal aliens who arrive the day after the bill passes? Are they going to have an amnesty as well? Isn't that in essence just surrendering the sovereignty of America to any and every one who wants to come here?" One of my senators is a cosigner on this bill. When the community found out about it they started calling his office. I hope he got the message and withdraws his support. It's a real hot topic!

Seems like we are doomed to lose the country I love because both parties are behind this. My take is that white Americans have become too knowledgable about what the elite is doing to them so they need to compensate by diluting the white vote with less intelligent people. IMH(and admittedly biased)O.

Hatch is an idiot. This guy Ray asks good questions that will be ignored. I am totally disgusted with the lot of these politicians.
Thank God we at least have an initiative and referendum process in Cali to strike down some of the ridiculous laws the local nitwits foist upon us. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the Feds when it comes to most immigration matters.
I fear for my country, I really do.

But it would be naive or worse to think --- after the Davis recall where many hispanics voted for the recall and voted for Schwarzenegger --- that the latino vote is pro-illegal immigration. Plus there is the example of Silvestre Reyes who was strong on border control and he was elected to Congress --- by hispanics --- because of it.

I'd use a lot stronger word than "Naive" I kind of wonder why Vicente Fox has so much control over Bush. Vicente Fox isn't doing well at all in Mexico with his own people ---- but he's sure been given much authority over the USA.

I think our old frine Mr Jefferson has already offered a solution to this problem:

Katherine Harris, the Rep. from Florida (and former Sec. of State), helped build this monstrosity. I heard her on Sean Hannity's radio program. She was so giddy and excited about it, and Sean had all he could do to keep from being (understandably) rude. He did ask, "And are the taxpayers going to foot this thing?" Like, who else??
