Hi, Weeg! Yeah, that jumped out at me, both in the novels and in the movies. I'm convinced that it's one of the reasons they were so well recieved after 9-11.

Something that was a surprise to me, in the Children of Dune miniseries, was the scene in which R.M. Mohiam tells Princess Irulan to administer an abortifact to the pregnant concubine, Chani. Irulan has a shocked expression on her face and asks "You want me to
kill the child?".
Another scene has Alia referring to her grandfather, the Baron Harkonnen, a "perverted old fool" for lusting after another man.
