For those that call this hotline without reasonable knowledge and perhaps first hand knowledge of the 'abuse'- you've really put them in a bad position. I think it would be terribly irresponsible for anyone else to follow your lead on this. Sorry, just my thoughts.

I appreciate your input. I considered the situation before I called and concluded that I had more than reasonable knowledge of abuse. I was compelled by morals (and by law) to act on that.
Clearly one must be thoroughly convinced that there is abuse of a vulnerable person before making that call.

And, 'I read about it on the Internet' is NOT "first hand" knowledge. And there are legal considerations as well - many regular posters to this and the other Schiavo threads have left themselves open to be sued for gross libel by an estate and/or an individual already proven to be litigious. Protesting what one considers to be an injustice is one thing - actively crossing the line and advocating violence is another.
I think it would be terribly irresponsible for anyone else to follow your lead on this.
More gold. But careful - you'll have the whole harpy contingent on FreeRepublic down on your neck for posting such "heresy."
