My father did die of dehydration/starvation. He had a tumor in his throat that cut off his esophogus. The tumor advanced faster than the Drs anticipated and by the time he was unable to swallow liquids or solids it was too late to insert the tube. His condition would not allow for it. I will attest to anyone who will listen that it is a horrible and extremely painful death. The one starving and dehydrating is not always comfortable regardless of the sedatives given. My father was on mega doses of morphine and yet he still tried to drink to satisfy his thirst. Whatever he consumed would not go down but only come out of his nose. He literally would cry and beg God to allow him to swallow just a little.
That this is being purposely done to Terri, who is not terminal, is frightening. It is also an outrage.
