Yep--took care of patients very similar to Terri for years. Had quite a few (after aggressive rehab) to come back (walking) and say "hello." Most of them remembered little about their time in my unit. Their family members told them about the care they received from us.

I shudder to think that these people could have been starved to death today.

Have you read any of the info Wesley Smith has in his book Forced Exit? I haven't but I did hear him on the radio and there are actually articles in medical journals by doctors who advocate declaring people like Terri dead so they can take their organs. Very gruesome!!

What's particularly blood-boiling about Terri's case is that Schiavo isn't merely 'allowing' Terri to starve. He is explicitly working to prevent anyone from feeding her. I wish there were some way I could drop a piano on his head and free Terri from his evil control.
