If you are a lifelong Cubs fan, then I should pray for you, I think! Haha!

Actually, entertain this for a second. I was talking in the other thread about the power of ritual and how it impacts real life.

Millions of fans saw that happen in the NLCS Game 6.

Consciously, adults don't believe in curses, supernatural, etc. Your subconsious mind, though, has roughly the maturity level of a six or sevem year old. To a large extent, it still beleives in magic, wizards, santa, etc.

As far as the subconsious mind goes, the second that hapless fan got in the way, the curse 'happend,' and at some level, they were off the hook (in other words, the blame for the loss subconsiosly would not be on them, but on the curse.)

This psychic energy was felt by the players, fans in attendance, and fans worldwide. Everybody was thinking the same thing - "Uh oh! We can't win!"

This sends though-energy waves through the universe. Once 'off the hook,' the Cubs fulfilled the destiny - their subconsious minds accepted the fact that the curse was real, happening, and keeping them from winning.

At a subconsious level, they were already beaten. An 8 run inning? Gee...

This is a very real phenomena, and there is lots of literature on it, though it is esoteric and not exactly scientific. I am a beliver in it though - I have programmed my mind for many things, many of which have manifested. It isn't black magic, or magic at all. The power of creation (in our lives) is encoded within us. The good news: A strong belief, backed up by effort, pays great dividends. The bad news: too many of these strong beliefs are negative and don't help us, but manifest in life just the same.

I train people to be positive about their lives - it's my career. I really like it. Eliminating limiting beliefs is the first step towards success. Sadly, most people go to their graves never reaching their potential, because they had a network of limiting, negative beliefs keeping them back.
