there's a practical reason to support the sox tonight -- if the yankees win the world series will be the traditional rivalry between the new yorkers who elected hillary and the former new yorkers who couldn't poke a hole in a piece of paper in the right place. which, like the 1985 all-missouri series, absolutely nobody will care about beyond a furtive hope for late-season hurricanes and early blizzards.
