Even after welfare reform, an estimated 34 percent of households headed by legal Mexican immigrants and 25 percent headed by illegal Mexican immigrants used at least one major welfare program, in contrast to 15 percent of native households. Mexican immigrants who have lived in the United States for more than 20 years, almost all of whom are legal residents, still have double the welfare use rate of natives. Okay --- it looks like the rate for legal immigrants is 34% and the illegals is 25% ---- maybe we should deport the legal immigrants and keep the illegals.
