You need to do a referesher course on DNR orders, friend. They are all the same and state only one thing. Do Not Rescucitate.

No, they are not all the same, though I imagine they are similar. And they don't just state one thing. The issue which comes into play here is the fact that there are hundreds of ways to consider "rescucitate" in the order. Most non-medical people are thinking of the code they saw on ER watching tv, and you can be sure a person with a DNR is not going to be coded.

There are not hundreds. Look at the link strela provided. in the Texas DNR order, there are maybe five or six.

Once again, I ask the question that has been put to you several times, and which you refuse to answer.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT TERRI'S CEREBRAL CORTEX IS GONE, AND THE SPACE FILLED WITH SPINAL FLUID???

ANSWER THE QUESTION, PLEASE.

You may think there are hundreds and that medical personnel have the time and concern to read through each and every person's specific living will paperwork, but you can trust me on this....they slap a very highly colored piece of paper, usually red, with the letters in capital "DNR" on the front of the chart.

And when the time comes, the patient is not treated.

I know you are more intelligent than this, huck. Just because there are 5 or 6 listed here on the web, does that mean they are not considered one and the same in the hospital? Hint, read up on current hospital staffing issues.

I can work 60+ hours a week right now or more if I want to, guess why?

Guess how often all the hospitals I have worked for in the last 10 years or so have shipped patients on because they had no staffing to keep them?
