You are correct. Many people think that a disabled person who cannot move their muscles vigorously is also brain damaged in thinking ability. Such is not the case. The brain is a complex organ and has many facets and capabilities. My own mother in law is dying of Lou Gehrig's disease, she can't move much at all, but she is still smart as a whip and understands everything that is going on around her.
