I just could not understand your opposition to seeing this poor woman reunited with her parents.

My opposition is based on the fact that she is essentially dead in every meaningful way and that she (and her husband and family) deserve some peace. All the specious wrangling about smeared frames on a video supposedly showing her responding to stimuli, all the legal BS, and all the Bertha Better-Than-Yous on FreeRepublic making this their own special cause celebre' does not help Ms. Schiavo and is injurious to her.

The poor woman has been at the twilight of death for 13 years, trapped in a body that no longer functions. For her, every sunrise is a new, fresh hell. It is well past time to let her go and for everybody to get on with their lives.

What may give your life meaning, may not be the same for all others. Do you support aborting babies too since people question whether they are living as well prior to birth? How about abortion of babies with downs syndrome? How about aborting conjoined twins who may be miserable with surgeries for the first few years of life or have a low percent chance of survival? Do you support euthanizing very early preemies who have a slim chance of survival and may end up with life long disabilities? I really would like to see your answer to each of these questions.

You could say the exact same thing about Christopher Reeves, Stephen Hawking, and countless others.

A half century ago, half a world away, that mindset took root.

The world is still recovering. At least, it WAS recovering until "involunatary assisted suicide" became popular.

Still, you are recommending death for someone else, not yourself.

And every advocate of abortion too is already born and therefore has a conflict of interest when he endorses abortion of the unborn.
