Why allow her to starve to death? Wouldn't it have been better to give something that would hasten the death. They're estimating 2 weeks.
The treatment of animals are more humane. I agree, but advocating that is a quick way to get banned from FreeRepublic.

Really that's a banning offense?
The call for hastening the death of a well person is a banning offense. Wanting to find a better way of honoring a person's living will that can't care for themselves is mercy and compassion. JMHO
