Well, geez. At least a goodly portion of that 65,000 people in the seats were CUBS FANS Could it be that the Cubs just have more fans everywhere in comparison to the relatively new Marlins? Also the fact that there are also a bunch of Illinois transplants down here. I know a bunch of them myself. Just like the NY transplants. I believe a great majority of the people who live in South Florida are transplants from one place or another.

Right. Exactly. But does that translate into the transplants actually attending regular season Marlins games? I bet the Red Sox and the Cubs get huge bunches of fans just going to their spring training games.

And you don't understand just how many people FLEW from Chicago (Midway OR O'Hare) to come see the Cubs play the Marlins in Miami. The word on the street here was that there were NO flights left and that the Marlins organization stopped selling and/or refused to sell tickets to anyone whose credit card number was linked to an Illinois address.
