To: Bluebird Singing
I had to watch my Grandmother in a vegetative state for over a year. I got to see everything that comes with it. Thanks but no thanks....that is not living & I KNOW that she wouldn't have wanted to stay that way. You have your definition of "living" & I have mine. Feeding tubes & ventilators are not a part of it. Thanks :)

Terry doesn't fit the vegetative state, apparently.

She moves her eyes responding to a balloon's movement, shows happiness at seeing her parents, can make audible vocal sounds, and can sit up in bed.

Sorry, but that's not my definition of vegetative state. That's the medical definition, and I would think that if that's the word being used in a matter this serious, it should fit the circumstance. Terri is not comotose, and she is not in a vegetative state. This isn't about you or me.

Terri is not on a ventilator. Sorry about your Grandmother. Mine died instantly of a massive stroke at the young age of 57.
