Bingo! My thoughts exactly. It was the LEAD story in the headline news all day long. I could care less what happens to Kobe. Talk about our Nation's priorities being screwed up. God help us.

In the Netherlands they basically are turning hospitals into execution mills (or death camps, but I'll stay away from the hyperbole for the moment). Anyone who comes in in some sort of comatose/braindead/vegetative state is killed. Want recourse? Tough, since the government owns all the hospitals. Didn't think that would happen with universal health care did ya? Yeah right.

Shame on Jeb Bush. He's hiding behind the law to keep from doing justice. He could stop this. How? The cops report to the Executive branch, not the Judiciary Branch. This is not difficult. Too bad he doesn't know what he's doing and has no courage. May his cowardice haunt him the rest of his life.

The operative word is "within" 14 days. Maybe the 14 days makes it sound more natural? It will be sooner rather than later. Yes, definitely sooner rather than later. I hope those who are trying to rescue/save her realize that, sw. Not much time left.

Pickup was anxiously awaiting news yesterday from Edmonton MP David Kilgour, whose office has asked Immigration Minister Denis Coderre to help clear the way for an emergency asylum offer. I think a hell of alot of emails should be imediately sent to these persons to further motivate their "emergency asylum" offer. If they have to go in and get her out the hard way then by all means they should do it!

Jeb doesn't want to do a replay of Governor Gilmore in the Hugh Finn case. You can't blame him for being cautious after Gilmore was sued successfully for intervening.

Regarding how alive she is, very. Just as much as you and me. The only difference is, she's disabled such that she can't eat on her own. Really, I should say, swallow on her own (although I've heard that this has not been truly determined), because once you get past the esophagus, she can digest and process her food, just like you and me. She's also conscious and responds to stimulii. SHe can breathe on her own.
I only caught about two seconds of the video of her with her mother and I'll be damned if this is the first vegetable or comatose person who can blink and smile.

You'd be surprised what desire, determination, and a good support network can do. Miracles really do happen.

"but ones that clear and convincing evidence shows the individual would make for herself or himself." Well, the only thing "clear" to me is that a judge overstepped his bounds into godhood in making this not so informed decision and the evidence I have seen is convincing...I am convinced that Terri has as much right to live as you or I until God sees fit to take her (and no, I don't think that removing a feeding tube and starving her to death is God's way of taking her).

Please give us information. The TV media hasn't shown ANY protesters that I know of... I did hear people chanting in the background of a radio report, top of the news. Grrrr!

Not a bad idea. But if they make the asylum offer official, then what? Someone has to break the law to get her free of the guards. What do you propose? (this is a serious question and attempt to get discussion going on this idea, not sarcasm).

That is exactly what I think will happen with universal "health care."

I emailed Fox news and told them we are tired of Kobe and Laci all the time. I am personally very sick of it. I want more Terri.

that there is a Florida statute that states that food cannot be withheld from a disabled adult....Do we have any Florida lawyers here?? I hope to God that there are some Florida lawyers who are following up on this. I was stunned when the Schindler atty mentioned this. This option has to be explored.

Whether Terri can respond or not; she is a live human being. I would say her staying alive for 13 years is a testament to her will to live. She is obviously a strong person. I believe that God is sending a message. He does not want Terri or any other person to die this way.

Well, the only thing "clear" to me is that a judge overstepped his boundsBut sadly, he did not. It is a well-worn path, a well-oiled machine, the right to die movement has been working toward this day for the last 20 years. All the while the rest of us were enjoying life and oblivious to the work being done by them.
