Not really. If he said she said it, then wouldn't it be known? Or is that a private thing?

It's NOT known - that's one of the reasons this is a big deal - after he collected the $$ that he needed to take care of his wife "the rest of her life", which is what he said he wanted to do, he suddenly remembered she had said she didn't want to live on life support. His brother, and brother's wife, do back up his story, but I think it's strange that she had never expressed that wish to any member of her own family.
There is an awful lot of information connected with this case - hard to keep track sometimes.
