Removal of brain-damaged woman's feeding tube to proceed MITCH STACY Associated Press
DOVER, Fla. - Gov. Jeb Bush said Wednesday he has ordered his legal team to try to find a way to intervene in the case of severely disabled woman who is scheduled to have the feeding tube keeping her alive removed.
Bush's comments came after a 20-minute meeting with the family of Terri Schiavo, who faces a 2 p.m. Wednesday deadline in the removal of the tube. Her husband, Michael Schiavo, has been granted permission to remove the tube in a six-year legal battle against her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler.
Bush said his attorneys are looking for legal alternatives to somehow block the removal of the tube, but did not know yet what they might be.
"We are going to seek whatever legal alternatives are available and seek the best minds to find another avenue to submit to the courts to see if there can be a change in this ruling," Bush said at an appearance in Dover dedicating new housing for migrant workers.
"I am not a doctor, I am not a lawyer, But I know that if a person can be able to sustain life without life support, that should be tried," the governor said, adding the "ultimate decision of this is in the courts."
Bob Schindler Jr., Terri Schiavo's brother, said the family was heartened by the governor's last-minute effort. The Schindlers have pleaded with Bush - who in previous legal findings have supported their efforts to obtain therapy for their daughter - to intervene.
"The family has not given up hope on Terri," Bob Schindler Jr. said following the meeting with Bush. "We have spoken to the governor, and he hasn't given up hope either."
Terri Schiavo, 39, is expected to die within two weeks after the tube's removal. She's been in a vegetative state since suffering a heart attack in 1990. Her parents believe she is capable of learning how to eat and drink on her own.
A state appeals court in Lakeland rejected motions by an attorney for the Schindlers and their legal remedies have been exhausted, their lawyer said Tuesday.
Michael Schiavo says he is carrying out his wife's wishes that she not be kept alive artificially. The parents say their daughter has shown signs of trying to communicate and could be rehabilitated.
"In our eyes, it's murder," Bob Schindler said Wednesday on CBS' "Early Show."
George Felos, attorney for Michael Schiavo, said that the Schindlers were "still in denial" over Terri Schiavo's wishes not to be kept alive.
Doctors have testified that the noises and facial expressions Terri Schiavo makes are reflexes and do not indicate that she has enough mental capabilities to communicate with others.

I have been thinking for some time that he should visit and observe the procedure, with news cameras rolling.

As the father of 4 grown daughters I can't begin to imagine the anguish her parents are going through. This is simply wrong.Where are judicial morals.
I fear that if this was my daughter I would not be able to restrain my rage. There would be a good chance that legal guardianship would change in about one second and for about 30 cents, and let the chips fall.
prayers ongoing.... believing the good lord will hear.
God bless you Terri.

I recommend that we all pray the following Psalms. I substitute she/Terri for the author. Psalm 3; 5; 6; 7;10; 11; 12; 17;30; 31; 35; 34. Some of these Psalms truly describe her exact situation.Thankyou for those passages. I am praying them for her now.

Angelwings, my sister and I were discussing the same exact thing last night! I can never remember once in my twenties discussing something like that and neither could she.
We are supposed to believe that she discussed that with only the people that want her dead now, but never discussed it with her family? Yeah right.
I believe it is all a big fat lie, and she never said it. Why then did her husband never mention these "wishes" when he was trying to get that big money settlement (but instead claimed the money was for her rehabilitation)?
Terri has hung on all these years for a reason. With the horrific care (or should I say "non-care") that she has received, most would have already died of something just from the lack of medical attention when sick. She has a purpose, and I pray something happens and she surprises everyone.

Terri's fightThe Feast of St. Teresa
October 15, 2003 is the day the courts have ordered the withholding of nutrition and hydration from Terri Schiavo. It is also the Feast of St. Teresa - Terri's name-sake.
In a desperate effort to get the attention of someone who could stop this court-sanctioned death, the Schindler family has released a video of Terri that they took some 24 months ago, showing Terri laughing with her mother.
Because of this, Mr. Schiavo's attorneys have ordered that Terri may no longer have visitors. Not even her mother and father are allowed to see her or to even say goodbye to her.

Guys:
Now that it has gotten NATIONAL exposure, a perfect opportunity to keep it on the NEWS!!!
But, the FACT needs to be also exposed that the parents are being denied visitation.
What kind of heartless animal would deny their child's last days, as she lay dying.
I believe (with God's help) this can be reversed, if we can keep it open!!!
Ideas here to do that, also get word out that Michael locks parents out!!!
Surely he cannot or will not during next 3 days?

The Bible says that the wife should "submit" to the husband as the husband "submits" to God. So Schiavo has not fulfilled his part of the obligation. Terri therefore should have an immediate divorce, for this "husband" wants to kill her.

Prayers continuing for Terri!
How cruel and inhuman this is.

He's doing everything he can. Well that will be determined by whether or not he lets the state kill her. My money says he will not do anything more, than tell the people he is bound by the law. Where is a Clintonian when you need one?

The Clintonians are the Florida Supreme Court, who have the power to stop this immediately.
But of course they won't.

Blocking the last rites of a Mother and Father to say goodbye to their daughter? Hold her hand? Pray over her? What have we become? God help us.
