Very disturbing stuff. I can understand how Terri's husband would feel that his wife would not wish to exist in her current state. I believe he will regret his actions the rest of his life. My wife died of brain cancer and it took only six months from the time of her diagnosis untill the end. About a month before she died it was clear that she was no longer with us. Gradually she lost all physical ability to move or control anything. Eventually she was unable to swallow and there was nothing I could do except be with her and make sure that she wasn't suffering from dryness of the mouth or from being soiled. I tried oh God, I tried to do everything but in the end I couldn't breathe for her and she passed away in my arms. Death came as a friend for her and I. I still would not be able to do what Terri's husband wishes and yet, I understand.

My prayers are with you Lee, I went through the same with my wife. It started in the lungs and spread to the brain.

Poor Terri wasn't lucky enough to have a husband like you...

I'm very sorry about your wife, but I'm afraid you really don't understand. Terri is not terminal and quite likely could have (and still could) benefit greatly with therapy. Her husband has refused to use the money he won in a malpractice lawsuit awarded for her care and rehabilitation. He wants her dead - he deserves no compassion. If you knew all the facts of this case you would see that his situation has nothing to do with what you went through.
Again, I am very sorry for what you and your wife went through. God bless you.

I can understand how Terri's husband would feel that his wife would not wish to exist in her current state. Please don't cry for him. He's a rotten bastard. He's living with another woman, he has a child by her, and the only reason he wants Terri to die is because she's inconvenient. After all, he wants to move on with his life. There's also the money he gains by her death.
No, he's not going to regret anything. He can't wait for the day when she dies. They've removed her feeding tube today. I hope the bastard doesn't get his wish.

I can understand how Terri's husband would feel that his wife would not wish to exist in her current state. She wouldn't be alive if she didn't have a will to live. He has no way of knowing how she feels now at this moment ---- but he's been committing adultery for years with another woman. All he needs to do is divorce the wife --- or just let her family have her and decide for her. Never trust your life to someone who is cheating on you ---- he has money motives too ---- insurance policies that he wouldn't get if he just divorced her and moved on.
