There's definitely something wrong with this story. This husband is just itching to have his wife dead. If he had any love for her, you would think he would be encouraged by reports that she is able to do things upon request and would seek more help/therapy for her. I understand why the judge doesn't want her to progress now that he is on record so many times stating she can be done in, but what's the deal with the husband? Why doesn't he wash his hands of her and give the control over to her parents and let them deal with it? He wants her dead and there has got to be a reason for that other than the fact he had a casual conversation with her about artificial prolonging of life. This dude has got something to hide and/or gain.

On the subject of prolonging life by artificial means, I feel like George Carlin when he hears someone say, "Yeah, if I'm ever in that state, just pull the plug" Carlin said, "F-that, if there's a hole in me, stick a plug in it!"

Well, I just watched the video of the girl reacting to her mother's speech. She smiles a bit, and is blinking quite a bit. They call this vegetative? There is something really evil going on here. Her parents want her, will sign the money over to him, but she has to die. I don't believe this is happening. Why is Jeb Bush silent on this?

Maybe he wants to marry his girlfriend who is pregnant with his second child.

Perhaps the husband doesn't want to give up control to her parents because he knows that they would keep her alive until her natural death of old age/disease, and she would still be in this state. I think the parents are fooling themselves in hope that a miracle will happen and she'll suddenly get better, but I think that thirteen years is more than enough time wait. I know that they are praying to God to help her get better, and He always answers our prayers - but sometimes the answer we get is "no".

She's already gone through 13 years of hell, and all that her parents are doing, while I know they're doing it out of love, is going to condem her to countless more years of this kind of limbo. Think about it, people! She's 39 years old now - if she's kept in reasonably good health, she could last until 70 or 80 - that's another 30 or 40 YEARS of living in that kind of hell! That's no life for anyone! I wouldn't condem my worst enemy to live like that, let alone someone I loved. If it were you, would you want to live that way?
