No, really, what legal justification do they have for not allowing her parents to take her home?? I understand there are evil forces at work here, but what is their stated legal reason for not allowing her to go home?? Judge Greer sez. What more reason do they need? I don't think there's any legal reason that would stand up in a trial court in light of the evidence. The problem is that appeals courts rely upon trial courts to supply any evidence that will be used in their decisions; what's happening here is that Greer is able to act as "gatekeeper" and prevent any evidence of Terri's cognition from being introduced into evidence.

All of that goes into the decision to withdraw the tube. Fine. Evil decision. Next question is What then prevents her parents from taking her home? What am I missing here? Has the judge specifically said she must stay at the hospital until she dies?
