You've hit the nail on the head. I feel bad for Rush as a human being but I believe his biggest fear has always been that he would become irrelevant. Since common folks like me started to discover the power of the internet 6-8 years ago, Rush has seemed to be more and more insecure about his influence. I only speak for those I know who regularly listen to Rush - - they strike me as folks who already believe what they believe but, for some reason, they need to listen to Rush to validate those beliefs.

As for Imus, well, that's just pure entertainment - except for the 2-3 guests he has on his program every day. Guests say things on his program they wouldn't say anywhere else. And, the reason they feel free to say what they say is because he doesn't interrupt or talk over them. Imus doesn't preach to me. He assumes I want to be entertained and not talked down to.

Imus makes me sick. I won't listen anymore while he pats himself on the back for his charity. The Imus Ranch for Kids With Cancer, what a clever way to fund a 'vacation property' in the mountians. I refuse to call it a "working cattle ranch". And his vegetarian wife, I am sick of hearing about her. Imus says his brother has become a vegetarian too. Yeah, maybe when Imus is there he is.

This makes no sense. In November of last year he was touted as the main fear factor of the Democrap because of his power on the radio. As for the power of the internet, thats a huge joke! Theres no power! 90% of the internet is crap and 8% is rumour or urban legend. You also make a huge assumption that Imus is entertaining. Listing to him is an adventure in boring and watching him is like watching an old Clutch Cargo where the face doesn't

Fine. It makes no sense to you. Or, did I touch a nerve? In either case, what I said is my opinion, so you can just move along.

Imus is still alive? I thought they disconnected his feeding tube a long time ago!

I listen to Imus for entertainment. If he starts with country music, I change the channel.

From what I understand about the e-mails Rush wrote to the housekeeper, he has a big drug problem. Imus was a druggie, so in his crude way, he told Rush to work the program. People are going to make fun of Rush, but there's nothing anyone can do about it. It's all up to Rush now.

"Imus -- a recovering addict -- is behaving in absolutely the exact opposite way he should behave."

The boy does sound 'dry drunk' indeed. If he was serious about personal inventories of his own baggage he might realize that attacking a fellow human being with a medical problem is the most important thing here.

He should not be seeing how he can spike the ratings, relish the political points to be made, or make misfortune into entertainment for the masses.

If he is indeed a recovering addict himself - I haven't followed him since leaving that area decades ago - he best be worrying about his bacon.

It might wind up in the belly of that tiger he tries to ride over Rush. It well behooves Mr. Imus to try putting his mind in motion before he puts his mouth in gear next time.

Oh, no! I got hooked on Delbert and then the Flatlanders. Technically, I guess both are Country - - and more.

I'm into Big Band, Cole Porter, Sinatra, etc. right now. I've been picking out dinner music for my daughter's wedding.

How can anyone here suggest Rush do anything but take full responsibility for his crime. He played golf with a bad back? Everything Rush stands for is personal responsibility, it is time for him to pay the piper. HE WAS NOT ADDICTED TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, to be addicted to prescription drugs one need a prescription! Don’t be so naïve, Rush is human guys, he is just a plain old drug addict. The denial here must rival the denial Rush had that prevented him from getting treatment.

nobody knows abut the emails since they have not been revealed.

This much is apparent, the emails were not enough (along with everything else she provided)to yield an arrest.

It is all up to Rush now. But it does not help anyone to assume evidence which has not been shown to exist.

legally speaking prescription drugs are drugs which require a prescription. They are defined by the NEED for a prescription to dispense them, not whether or not you actually have them.

Elvis had prescriptions for all his drugs. His doctor provided all of his stuff.

I quit listening to Imus years ago. He and his ass-kissing lackeys get tiresome quickly.

I've listened to Rush's show daily for the last 11 years. Obviously I haven't heard every minute, but I can't remember Rush talking about jailing any drug abusers even once. His reference to drug users is in his pat description of some liberals as being "long-haired maggot-infested dope-smokers".

My point is, Rush's critics don't listen to his show. They actually know nothing about what Rush really says. They just parrot each others lies about him.

Rush did not "whine". He did not blame anyone else. He took full responsibility for his actions. He did not lie.

Compare that with "Der Schlickmeister's" modus operandi. Or any other liberal, for that matter.

Does anybody actually take this crusty old wretch seriously?

Imus hates everybody.

His AM time slot is the ONLY one I never turn on. He's too miserable.

Who cares what he says about Rush.

You said that Rush's e-mails were not published, but on another thread I asked if Rush's e-mails were published in the National Enquirer, and I was told they were.

I agree Imus is more of an entertainment talk show. I use to listen to him for awhile and found him to be humorious, but I could never tell when he was just being funny or was trying to be serious. I tend to listen more to local talk radio now. They still talk about national and international issues, but they also talk more about local issues, and I find that to be more interesting then a nationally broadcasted radio shows.

Big difference between cocaine and booze taken recreationally and predictable addiction to pain pills because of, logically, pain.

Imus is a bitter has-been. Rush is not fat, but Imus looks an angry old man. He is the one who "better get over it" because his radio days (and stations carrying his lousy, negative show) are numbered.

First of all I did not refer to all posters. I said, "at times this forum seems to be a Rush is aways right web site." I can tell you are a Rush fan bacause, like Rush, everything is either Left or Right, conservative or liberal, black or white. No room for anything in between. I never refer to peoples opinions as left or right, because I understand that most people are not to either one side or the other. I don't use labels to group people into one category or another. Doing that tends to lock your own point of view into that one category. Because if you dare to think outside that category you are leaning to the other category (the enemy in some peoples views).
