No, she would have had to pass in front of Viv's house. In the link you provided, Viv Mitchell said she was walking South down Buena Vista towards La Sombra and turned before passing in front of the Mitchell home.

You have her walking to Yosemite and then back to within a couple of blocks of home, THEN you say she takes off for Mitchell's neighborhood? And you get tired just writing about it. She was 7 1/2 mos. pregnant and having trouble walking according to her friends. There is no way that she made the looping backtracking walks that you describe.
