We make may wise laws to regulate use, but no law is wise that bans a thing completely, nor subjects usages to the sole and complete discretion of the state or its agents.

What a bunch of crock. I suppose the parts, means and methods to build nuclear weapons or other mass destructive devices should be freely available to all, and not subject to restriction or control by nations or their agents?
Please. This is a nice phylosophy for the pre 1700s when the height of mans knowlege was agriculture and the fringes of the industrial revolution. HOwever there is no doubt that today mans abuility and capacity to destroy far and exceeds generally his individual wisdom.
I'm sorry, I just don't think the typical 18 year Popeye's chicken employee should be blindly trusted with a WMD.
We are past the age where by the time one had learned or earned the ability to utilize power that they had already learned the respect and responsibility that comes with that power.
Martial arts and the like are probably one of the few remaining areas of study, where this tradition continues to exist.. largely in the post industrial and information revolutions this is not the case... we can and often do get far greater power than our wisdom should allow us to have, paying little or no price for it, nor respecting the hard work, or warnings, of those prior who got human kind to that point.
What law are you talking about? Besides you certainly don't speak for most adults or we would have legalized all drugs a long time ago.
I am not saying drugs must be freely available, just that anything a man might have and use should be available to him to use RESPONSIBLY, like an adult.
I, like most people in the country, do not believe there is such a thing as using crack cocain responsibly.
