RUSSIA VOWS TO ADVANCE ISKANDER MISSILE FOR SYRIA & IRAN

Russia has pledged to complete development of a surface-to-surface missile that has been marketed to Iran and Syria. Officials said the Russian Defense Ministry plans to complete development of the Iskander-E short-range missile. The SS-26 solid-fuel missile has a range of 280 kilometers and is meant to defeat U.S. missile defense systems, such as the PAC-3.

"This year we expect the completion of the state testing of the Iskander high-precision missile system," Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Moskovsky said.

Moskovsky told the Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya that Moscow has invested in the development of missiles meant to penetrate missile defense systems, particularly those of the United States. He did not rule out that these missiles would be exported to Moscow's clients.

The Bible says Russia will try to invade Israel. Why else would they do this?

The thing I always wondered is what would be in Israel that the Russians would go to that much trouble to get?

Same time Israel sold weaponry on 3.7 bln dollars in 2002. Almost same figures like Russia. No one alerted by that.

It has to do with money. Russia's customers are Syria and Iran. If Israel threatens them, they threaten Russia's customers.

The Soviets (that's not a mistake) are playing with fire, as usual. One thing will lead to another and eventually they'll sell longer range missiles to their proxies. I hope we've made it clear to them that MAD is still in place and that they will not be permitted to attack us with proxies: If even one nuke goes off on American soil, we will consider it to be an attack by the Soviet Union and we will launch a full nuclear retaliatory strike against them. Nothing has changed.

Are you seriously saying that it is acceptable for Russia to sell these missiles to Iran and Syria? War is a very serious possibility right now between these nations and Israel and you contend that it's fine and dandy for Russia to be doing this because "the US does it too"? This isn't a game Ivan, and Russia's actions in this matter are far from simple commerce. This is a clearly hostile act. Don't pretend Russia is some innocent merchant here.
