Four soldiers hurt in Basra blast
Four British soldiers have received minor injuries in two separate explosions in Basra in southern Iraq.
The first blast caused minor damage to an Army Land Rover and the second explosion happened close to a British base.
It not yet known if the troops were targeted deliberately.
Last week, the British base in Basra came under mortar attack for the first time.
British military spokesman Captain Hisham Halawi said both incidents were under investigation.
He said three soldiers were slightly injured in the second explosion near a British military camp.
But he could not confirm reports from residents living nearby that the first explosion an hour earlier happened as a vehicle was passing a petrol station on the outskirts of Basra. It left one soldier hurt.
An explosion at one of Saddam Hussein*s palaces serving as a British military headquarters happened on 8 October.
No one was injured and British officials said they believed the blast was caused by a small mortar.
