Jewish Cemetery Vandalized in Germany

FRANKFURT, Germany - Vandals desecrated a Jewish cemetery and a memorial to concentration camp victims in two separate incidents over the weekend, officials said Sunday.

Forty-two headstones in a Jewish cemetery near Gundesberg in central Germany were sprayed with graffiti including "Heil Hitler," "Sieg Heil" or simply "Hass," the German word for hate, police in nearby Kassel said.

Separately, a memorial to the victims of a World War II-era concentration camp near the northeastern city of Ravensbrueck was sprayed with anti-Semitic graffiti, a state official said.

Guenter Morsch, who heads the federation for memorials in the northeastern state of Brandenburg, called on police to find and prosecute the vandals, as well as strengthen the fight against extreme right groups.

Roughly 10,000 of the 150,000 women who were interned at the concentration camp in Ravensbrueck died there.

When it comes to France, that is my reading also. In Germany, however, this is done mostly by the Neo-Nazis, ever since the Reunification. The Easterners, under communists, were taught to feel as if they were victims of Nazism and never really dealt with racism. After the Reunification, most of the "problematic youth" come from there. In addition, Muslims in Germany are mostly Turkish. In contrast to the rest of the Muslim world, Turkey had no anti-Semitism in 500 years.

I would think that if there is anything we could have learned from the Nazi era it is that the NON-Jewish neighbors should also fear the scum that attacks Jews. Do they really think that this hatred would end if the Jews were to disappear tomorrow? The perpetrators have mothers, friends, borthers and sisters. The world has gone mad once again...

A friend of mine once said that all Jews needed to die. I asked him why. He couldn't come up with an answer, he just thought it. So I began to tell him about Israel vs. the Arabs. Now he cheers when the IDF strikes at Palestinian terrorists and talks about big IDF bulldozers.

So many people just blame it on Jews because they just don't know the truth.
