This is an Arnold news thread for the latest developments in his campaign and for us to communicate and collaborate. No disruptors- hence the use of a zero in Arnold's name in the title instead of an "o". I will be posting the latest news here.

Latest Arnold News
Yahoo! News - Calif. Parties Seek Two-Man Recall Race
This is exceptionally good news for Arnold. McClintock and Simon are taking anywhere from 9% to 17% points from Arnold with their candidacies. If the California state party, which in recent history has been fairly dysfunctional, can compel Simon and McClintock out, that would not just good for Arnold, it would prove the effectivenss of the state GOP. With 9 CA congressional representitaves backing Arnold, including Dana Rohrabacher who has a lifetime 96 rating with the American Conservative Union, and a state party convention that will only feature Arnold, it makes little sense for Simon and McClintock to be spoilers in this race. I think they'll see the writing on the wall and do what's in the party's best interest, and ultimate the best interests of the people of California.
Watch Arnold's Economic Summit Press conference
There's this thrill of watching Arnold perform as a candidate. He was masterful at this latest press conference- he had the right mixture of humor and gravitas. I particularly liked it how Arnold called the reporter's on their loaded questions, refused to go on the defensive, and instead refuted the premise of their questions. I see in Arnold's candidacy the same dynamic as with Bush. The opposition tries to claim Arnold is a lightweight. Every time they do, they make it easier for Arnold to exceed expectations. And he more than exceeded them at Wednesday's press conference. Click the link above to watch the video at CPSAN.

The point is, this Recall is NOT
a GOP primary election. To treat
it as such is political suicide.
No matter whom you support, the
objective is "yes" to recall, "no"
to the Democrats(Bustamante).
The only way is to vote for a GOP
winner. There it stands. Period.
BTW, is it true what FOX showed
this a.m. - some poll(?) has the
pro-recall down to 50% vs. 45%
against??? What is going on?!?!!
To: txrangerette
I strongly doubt the LA Times poll that showed a +5 margin for the recall. Prior polls had it at +20 margin or more. I don't know enough about how the question was asked but it's quite easy to cook polls. I'm waiting for a more reliable poll result, because right now, the Times poll seems like an outlier.

sacbee.com -- Recall -- Republican Bill Simon bows out of California recall race
Tremendous news for Arnold. Right now, the Republican vote is being divided three ways. With Simon bowing out, only Republican Tom McClintock remains as a spoiler, siphoning votes from Arnold. This was a gracious act by Bill Simon, and it won't be forgotten. If Simon thinks about running against Boxer in 2004, there may be many who suport him for putting the party first now.
Now the game is on to court Simon voters to support Arnold. Please refer Simon voters to the following docs, especially the Inside Scoop, which proves that Arnold is no "liberal":

Not to worry. It was the LA Times. They are just responding to their bosses. Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg, Baghdad Babs, and the likes. Those people are about to find out that Californians are SICK of being RAN by THEM!!

Media drops the ball on Bustamante's racist backgroundArnold's Democrat opponent, Cruz Bustamante, was involved in a racist group which had the motto "For our race, everything. For everyone else, nothing". Bustamante has yet to renounce this group despite its racist ideology. The media has been silent on the matter (though they don't hesitate to criticize Arnold for his father's misdeeds).
Arnold's economic dream team
Not a must-read but an interesting look at the business and financial luminaries involved in Arnold's economic team.

That would be his ties with the MEChA group. He has to asnwer to his calling an opponent a niger 2 years ago. Not something his father said, but that he sad. Yet, he still will not distance himself from that group, and in doing so, is commmitting political suicicide. He can't bring himself to break away from their radical racial views. Bustamante should scare every honest decent hardworking person out there!!
If you haven't heard of MEChA, I suggest you READ up on them. But do it quickly,...before they run you over and own all you property. They're the NEXT big uprisisng. Mark my words.
Arnold Swarschnagger is just the right man to take him out.
I think he is just the right man to straigthen out the mess in this state!! We are all for him. Go Arnold. Lets clean up this mess, get some business incentives to get the heck back here NOW!
You're JUST the man for the jog. Business, tourism, you name it..they will come!!! Lets Make the Golden State Shine once AGain!!!

Yes, you're right. I heard this too. The media's trying desperately to prevent a Republican governorship.
