As a PA resident that has watched Sen. Specter barely defeat strong opponents in the past, this is seriously bad news.

PA Repubs have never been thrilled with Sen. Specter due to his pro-choice, too frequent anti-gun stands on the issues.

His most outrageous comments came during Pres. Clinton's trial in the Senate where Sen. Specter hoped to invoke Scottish law to make his decision and then voted to acquit the former President.

Joe Hoeffel is a strong campaigner, decent looking, polished guy. If he runs a "You've been in the Senate too long" campaign, he could convince voters to throw Specter out.

That's if he ends up against Spector.
That's a mighty big IF!

Frankly, I doubt Spector will even get the Republican nomination.
So Hoeffel's "You've been in the Senate too long..." ploy won't work against Toomey.
