Maybe it is for Capito. The problem with WV is that it loves seniority, and the money it brings. But yes, the poll seems to be a bit skewed. I suspect your guy will get about 35%.

35% is what the current situation would warrant..I think you are quite insightful in your analysis....however, we are still placing our hope in our wonderful army of broken-glass Republicans to pull it off. Perhaps skewed polls like this will help us suppress what was already likely to be a light Dem turnout.

We have done everything in our power to create a sitution that would enable a miracle to occur. The problem is we have gotten zero assistance from the Republican establishment... at least until now--and even this is fairly limited in it's scope.

Nonetheless, I will give credit where credit is due. President Bush responded directly to our plea for him to come here, and I appreciate that greatly. Coddy Johnson of the WH political staff is a shining star...he deserves recognition for his belief in the grassroots. It was Coddy who believed that the President could win WV in 2000, when very few others did...and he put action to that belief in the last days of that campaign...thank God, that was what made the electoral difference.

You won't see me with very many kind words for the Senatorial Committee, though, after this campaign is through. They wrote off races before they ever got started, and demonstrated absolutely no ability to think tactically or strategically.

But today is not the time for that critique...for the next week, I will continue to focus fire where it belongs---on every DemocRAT within range of our guns.

BTW, I nominate you for the understatement of the evening... ;-)
