A rather odd headline for a race that Blagojevich has held strong leads in for awhile! Up 52-36, that's a bit tighter than most of the recent polls, but Ryan is still stuck below 40. I don't see any hope in this one.

This also shows the strongest polling numbers yet for Senator Durbin. He's well over the 50% mark now, at 56-35.

It's going to be a bad year for Illinois Republicans. I'm just hoping John Shimkus can pull out the incumbent vs. incumbent race in IL-19.

Yeah, the IL Senate race was my big hope for dark horse candidate Durkin making a run at the incumbent. Durbin's re-elect numbers are poor, but apparently not poor enough. Ryan still has a slim chance, but only if he can undo the name confusion ASAP. Even then I think we're seeing what we saw in VA last year. Even without the name confusion, this year's GOP candidate is being held accountable (understandably) for what his GOP predecessor did.
