And I'm pretty sure it was in connection to this race I first saw the word 'RINO' used in an editorial - in a quote about the cadre of weaselly sellout Maryland Republicrats like Morella. This, of course, along with a shrill warning about the dangers of these sorts of Constitutionist Grassroots Politicians. Might have been Wicked Witch McGory, but I couldn't pay too close attention to the content without an urge to vomit.
It struck me as an apparent FR connection, but I wasn't sure... until now.
Pretty sure it was on the ****ington (.Com)Post... can someone confirm?

Ah shucks! You've exposed me. :-0
and I thought all these years that I could continue to get away with my 3rd person "Bob Dole will do this... Bob Dole will do that..." type imitation. ;-)

Congratulations on your near win, which demonstrates the power of grass-roots activism. Especially in primaries, where most folks don't even vote.

Despite spending less than $500... You must have done some serious foot work and door-to-door hand pumping. I'm impressed. But, next time, spring for the extra $50 and win the damned election! ;-)
To: Hail Caesar
Congratulations on your outstanding showing! It'd definitely be worth it for you to make another run at it in the next election. Also, without question, you deserve a Most-Bang-For-Your-Buck award. Next time spend a thousand dollars, and with your amazing knack for efficient spending, you'll win by a landslide!
To: Hail Caesar
Good show!!!! From one who spent a tad more, you did good, man.

Hey fellas?
Check out what this "ALZONA" guy has accomplished.
You could be right, Mud.
There might just be a faint glimmer of hope.
In Maryland, anyway.

living proof that a true conservative candidate offers the electorate a real alternative to the indistinguishable demopublican candidates.

Interesting also that Erlich doesn't support him. I thought conservatives had to hold their noses for RINOS because the alternative was demsYou're obviously not from Maryland, which has twice as many Democrats registered as Republicans. Ehrlich would like to get himself elected, first.

How much more hinting will be neccessary before conservatives realize they are no longer welcome in the Republican party?Forget conservatives. The truth is Repuplicans are not welcomed in Maryland, a virtual one Party State. The reason he ran for governor is that he though he was gerrymandered out of his seat by the Democrap machine. Facts is facts; Baltimore and the Wash suburbs run the state gov't. If you want any say at all, you got to realize the facts. And being left out in the cold is worse yet. I dont think I can stand to pay higher state taxes than I do.

What an absolutely GREAT post.
It contains everything we need to know about America's political system. The handwriting on the wall couldn't be more explicit.
Thanks for your courage. It was inspiring to read of it.
Now, are we willing to learn anything from your heroic foray into the labrynth?

"...How much more hinting will be neccessary before conservatives realize they are no longer welcome in the Republican party?..."Well, we may have big brains but, unfortunately, they seem to be encased in even bigger--and thicker--skulls. Even a baseball bat upside the head doesn't seem to penetrate the ivory dome.
"...Republican gubernatorial nominee, U.S. Representative Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. (R), did not endorse Alzona's candidacy. Instead, the Republican congressman has declared his support for Democrat candidate Schaefer for quite some time now. ...
By the way did you read the good news? The USA is back in the fold. We've re-joined UNESCO!!
Ouch! What is that thing pounding on my head?
To: Hail Caesar
Well congratulations on a great showing anyway...
Just think of the possibilities if you had pulled it off... you might have had the support of the sitting Democratic governor! Good 'ol Parris "cradle robber" Spendening might just have endorsed you against Schaefer.
I guess when you look at it that way, winning might not have been so appealing after all. :-)
To: Hail Caesar
How great. Here's hoping that there's a big surprise for the RINO's in November....

Why can't Erlich simply refrain from endorsing *anybody* rather than actually endorsing a DIM? When you endorse the enemy you make them stronger. He should just keep his mouth shut!

"YEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!!" Way to go, Mr. Alzona!!! Next election, a few more dollars will put you over the top!!
