He is an affable gentleman...I think he's smart, and does a pretty darn good job on the stump.

But I could never support the man, because he is pro-abortion...and my experience is that you can't ultimately trust any politician who thinks killing children in the womb is ok.

If they are willing to compromise on the central moral question of our day, they will compromise away anything else that comes along, if they think it is politically popular.

IMO, Gordon Humphrey is the only conservative choice in this primary...during his time in the U.S. Senate, he was the best Senator seated on pro-life issues.

I looked for Keough's and Benson's abortion stance on their web sites and it's not there, unlike Humphrey who says:

"I've been devoted to the pro-life cause throughout my entire public life. During those many years served in the United States Senate and the State Senate, I never wavered in my embrace of pro-life principles."

Humphrey's site is the only one that that takes a stance, and like you, that will weigh heavy with my wife and I.
