Agree about the deficit needing to be reined in - but not sure how voters will respond to kitchen table realities on the ground. Don’t want a repeat of 2022 or worse. Admittedly concern trolling here. What can be done to fix healthcare premiums in the short term?

I have a delightful friend who provides me with homegrown tomatoes. Dear little woman who lives on less than $800 per month. Pleasant, friendly, intelligent. She’d really suffer without Medicaid.
I’m sure there are many more like her. Illegals and lazy bums should be kicked off Medicaid, but not good Americans like my friend.
You can't make it more difficult to get Medicaid unless you're coming up with an alternative that allows those on it to buy affordable insurance out of pocket.
Republicans are going to own all the problems with Medicaid and those falling through the cracks.

I like Hawley but he is wrong here. Not sure what he and others don’t get. We have a spending problem not a revenue problem. These constant give aways have to end and this is a good place to start. The most recent study I saw is that these subsidies overwhelmingly go to D voters.
Maybe each State should provide for its own.
Hawley joins Shroomer in admitting that medicaid is about political parties, not health care.
If she’s 65 or older she should be on medicare, not medicaid.
Also, the medicaid cuts are not going to effect legitimate recipients. They are aimed at the able-bodied working age adults and illegal immigrants. All the people that Biden added to the burden on the American taxpayer.
Kicking them off should increase self deportation and open jobs up for the basement dwellers.
