The fault lines are becoming more apparent, and it’s not Republican vs Democrat - those that feed at the Gov’t teat, are becoming fearful they might be cut off. Rudyard Lynch sees the fault lines between self sufficient rural voters and government dependent urban voters. (There’s a heavy male vs female component in there as well); The elites skew all their policy objectives to help mostly urban voters (ie; student loan forgiveness), and do nothing to help the more self sufficient rural voters, who are better helped by less taxes, so they can decide for themselves where their resources should go.
