They don’t get to have it both ways. If they are a trusted advisor to the president as they claim for the last couple of decades, then their positions matter. You don’t get to claim to be a trusted advisor and simultaneously claim innocence that nobody can judge your political positions. They have to pick one. Be a wife completely out of the political world, or be influencing the husband. So which is it?
