Well Trump is making a strong point for DeSantis in all the other states.

Bring on Ronnie. He’s 2024’s Ted Cruz.

What would we do without ethanol added to our gasoline?

FReepers: Ethanol gas is horrible, it destroys engines and wastes cropland. Using food for fuel is evil.

Also FReepers: Trump Is Always Right. We must never end the mandate to include ethanol in gasoline!

This why the country is doomed. Everybody (including Conservatives) love "small government" until it affects them.

I hate Ethanol.

I like Ethanol. I particularly like when it is derived entirely from corn ... and aged for a few years in a charred oak barrel.

Whatever your medication whether it’s Thorazine, resperidol, haloperidol, ziprasidone or whatever, you need to greatly increase the dosage. Your break with reality is severe.

Yup. Hence Ron wanting to end it coupled with he knows burning our food as fuel is stupid.

LOL...wrong! President Trump has been elected by a few million more votes than you. I'm going with his instinct on the American Farmer, and that doesn't make you any more patriotic than me. Deal with it- Ultra MAGA!

Once Ron gets a few votes of his own not hanging off President Trump's apron, give me a call!

Trump lost Iowa to Cruz in 2016. He won the GOP nomination in spite of, not because of, his Iowa corruption.

DeSantis should have waited until 2028. Big mistake.

Holy crap! There is NOTHING which screams beholden to special interests and working against America’s interests (and the World’s!) more than promoting ethanol. A war in the world’s breadbasket, food inflation like has never been seen before and this guy is pushing us to turn our food into gasoline?

For his own good, Trump should quit playing politics. From his 2016 campaign, I thought he was a complete fraud and huckster form whom I held my nose and voted against Hillary. He actually was very surprisingly good on the issues, but he’s fighting Republicans again, and straight back into the cesspool he goes, lower than ever!

Yeah, I haven’t got sick of the winning. It’s the losing he’s done that sickens me.

“burning our food as fuel is stupid.”

I get it, most people don’t know much about agriculture. But we aren’t “burning our food as fuel”.
There is plenty of corn around. Corn yields has increased tremendously with technology advances.
Ad the corn has a lot of feed value for pigs, chickens, and cattle after the ethanol is extracted.
Should it be mandated? That’s another question entirely.

Turning plants such as corn, soybeans and sunflowers into fuel uses much more energy than the resulting ethanol or biodiesel generates, according to a new Cornell University and University of California-Berkeley study.

"There is just no energy benefit to using plant biomass for liquid fuel," says David Pimentel, professor of ecology and agriculture at Cornell. "These strategies are not sustainable."

Pimentel and Tad W. Patzek, professor of civil and environmental engineering at Berkeley, conducted a detailed analysis of the energy input-yield ratios of producing ethanol from corn, switch grass and wood biomass as well as for producing biodiesel from soybean and sunflower plants. Their report is published in Natural Resources Research (Vol. 14:1, 65-76).
