Let this go. Here is the thing, as a father of two daugthers you want their happiness. If you know you are dying, this is that important to them, I would see why he did it. For him, seeing them smile and get excited would be worth it. For the girls, no matter how ridiculous we think this is, it will give them a fond final memory of their father.
Good for them. Live our lives.

I agree. Politics isn’t just “politics” as in the old days. It used to be just a lively but friendly conversation item at dinner parties.
Now, It is wrapped in in a person’s entire worldview and belief system. To force her dad to vote against his belief’s is beyond cruel. What a horrible person to do that to an elderly, dying man!

If I was that close to checking out, I’d be asking my kids to vote my way as a last wish, not my kids asking me to vote their way as their last wish.
Mine are as conservative as me though, so it’s not too much of a request.

Is there any law that even ALLOWS a state to check the absentee and early ballots against death records, since while you are allowed to CAST your vote early, you are by CONSTUTIONAL DECREE voting ON the first monday in november, and if you are not alive on that day, you should NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE YOUR VOTE COUNTED.
He wasn’t even elderly. 55 is middle-aged nowadays.
He must have had some horrible disease that cut him off before his time. That makes what his daughter did that much more despicable!!

As someone fast approaching 60, I object to calling someone in their 50s “elderly”...
The daughter went on SM and made it public. Used her dying father as a political stunt. Not cool. A bit deranged actually.
The last thing me and my 2 sisters would be thinking about if our father was dying is politics. My oldest sister and I are conservative. Our other sister is center-left. He would do anything to make his daughters happy, but we respect him enough not to ask him to vote against his conscience. That’s why this makes me feel so disgusted.

I hope that daddy still had enough strength to have her written out of his will.
I have a family member, SIL, who has been using and abusing family for two decades. She has now received $1 from the substantial estates of her parents and both sets of grandparents and is still presenting herself as a victim.
Finally after the older generation has passed, this person is not allowed on our property anymore.
