I pledge allegiance to the United States of America, one nation, indivisible, under God, for real, Biden said. Back in Joes childhood the Pledge would be one of the first things that a child would be required to memorize, other than, for a Catholic like Joe, his prayers.
You just dont muff something like the Pledge that you have know since first grade. At least not that badly.

I think that’s still the case today. Pledge gets recited every day in many classrooms. I’d bet Joe can’t get through the Lord’s Prayer or perhaps even a Hail Mary. It’s not that he never knew them, it just they are now lost. It’s not his fault. It is how age affects different people different ways. Not fair, but there it is.
