Twitter has permanently banned the account of a prominent pro-Donald Trump meme creator, citing violations of copyright infringement.
Twitters statement: Per our copyright policy, we respond to valid copyright complaints sent to us by a copyright owner or their authorized representatives. The account was permanently suspended for repeated violations of this policy, the company said.
Carpe Donktum issued a statement in response to the suspension, claiming he complies with DMCA rules.
Twitter has not provided me with any avenue to get my account back, so I assume they intend this to be final and permanent. I have ALWAYS complied with DMCA takedown rules, and I have submitted counterclaims when necessary, but I have NEVER uploaded content that has been removed.
I have abided by the community guidlines, and followed the rules. It doesnt matter. I have been banned for being effective and they wont even look me in the eye as they do it.

These idiots view Trump and his supporters as gangsters.
“How do we take down these gangsters?”
“tax evasion?”
“what else?”
“I got it — Copyright infringement.”
Twitter is a weapon. They are using it now that it's an election year. They better pray it works, because after the election Trump is going to rip them a new @$$hole.
Way past time we used RICO statutes and AntiTrust statutes against them.
The only way we will take back our country is to destroy the Communist Media that is brainwashing the rubes
I agree. That should be our first priority. Cut the cable tv until the cable tv companies are forced to provide a la carte service. Make them get rid of the basic bundle. This will open up the market for more competition.
Trump should invalidate all the H1B, H4EAD, and OPT visas these tech companies use.
That will sht them down.
Its estimated more that half of their workforce is Indian
I agree, but not using their propaganda weapon still leaves it as a propaganda weapon.
Refraining from using it is not the answer. Destroying any propaganda weapons they have is the answer.
Don't let them use it.
They will have to pay the market rate for Americans. Yeah!!!
That is foolish, if true. To compete with Twitter, they need to grow their users, not limit them by hiding content.
Yeah, but if he was posting copyrighted material and not taking it down, he’s giving them a slam-dunk reason to take down his posts or remove his account. The more “hits” likes or whatever criteria is used he gets he’s ensuring he’ll be taken down.
Am I correct, in saying/thinking that one cannot view/see a Parler pweet (?), unless one is a registered member?
I’m considering signing up.
Thanks.
See post #7 regarding copyright.
Parler.com?
Carpe donktum has already moved to Parler.
Yes, I know fair use and satire allow use of copyrighted material, but they are limited uses, especially if you are “satirizing” material people are not familiar with. For example, having DJT morph into Superman with footage is satire (most people are familiar with the man of steel) but taking some work people are unfamiliar with and editing to your taste is just obvious infringement. You cannot satirize unknown material.
That being said, I have no idea what constitutes popular culture nowadays. I vaguely remember the “Kingsmen” being discussed on this site, but the conversation was dominated by the opinion it was promoting violence against Christians (i.e Baptists, in particular).
So, I suppose, it’s a film that lends itself to satire and would probably find a big fan base with people on line, in social media etc.
From CarpeDonktum himself:
"I have ALWAYS complied with DMCA takedown rules, and I have submitted counterclaims when necessary, but I have NEVER uploaded content that has been removed."
Is that statement somehow unclear, CharleysPride?
I think Twitter will probably ban TRUMP when he isn't President anymore, still a dumb move since half of Twitter's audience would probably quit & their market cap would probably drop by half
1. He is saying he complied with rules about taking down copyrighted content.
2. He then says he has never put up content that has been taken down.
So, yes it is unclear, because he is saying he has complied with a rule, and then saying it never applied to him.
Could it be possible that a person from one side could copyright all the alleged free speech comments and effectively shut down the free speech of the other side?
Is China virus and Chinavirus copyrighted?
Are leftist terms copyrighted?
Could this get out of hand?
I've been on Twitter as a committed conservative activist since early October 2016.
Twitter has been ordered by someone(s) to take CarpeDonktum out of The Game.
Everything else, including rattling on about a system you're barely familiar with, is just useful white noise for the Twitter Nazis.
There was a time when we had Laws called Anti Trust Laws, and when such an egregious violation took place, they would swoop in and ARREST THE OWNER, Close the Company and SEIZE THEIR ASSETS, including their DOMAIN name!
