Every few years we must be reminded of what a man looks like.
It is core to police training to ALWAYS control every aspect of your interactions with the public. Right or wrong, that is just how cops are trained, and it frequently makes them come across as arrogant asses obsessed with their authority. Many cops don’t have the ability to dial it back when appropriate. But give up that control in the wrong circumstance and very bad things can and do happen. In the range of things that could have resulted from his weakness, at least this wasn’t fatal. He can always apply to the Community Safety Patrol in Minneapolis.
Well LT, one would think you have been around long enough to know that there are few ‘do-overs’ in real life.
You knelt to please the crowd
THE CROWD WAS LAUGHING AT YOU, NOT APPLAUDING YOU.
YOUR own troops ‘shed a tear for you’ but you probably would have tried to have them fired had they ‘apologized’ for your actions.
A lot of GOOD men and a few BAD have worn that uniform but in a STUPID SECOND, you managed to DISRESPECT them all.
Think back looie, what was your reaction when BO ‘bowed’ to that Arab or any OTHER world leader.
Along those lines, do what you please when you are representing yourself but you dishonor all when you exploit your uniform and/or position.
At least you didn’t wash anyones feet? DID YOU??

Sorry, too late. You failed the test. You’ve already exhibited poor judgement, and have proven that you shouldn’t be given the authority over life and death situations. I’m sure the police officers you supervise agree. Time to retire Bucko!

The cop admitted he was wrong to do what he did. Maybe a poor choice to do what he did but he owed up to it.
That’s different from Drew Brees who stood up for the right thing only to back down under pressure and then apologize over and over again for what he said..
