Confinement and taxation will continue until moral improves...
We have cops pulling over drivers (usually w/passengers) for this reason. Bakersfield CA.
= = =
Who is pulling them over, PD or KCSO?
And what entity in Bakersfield is getting infected with this power!
City council, PD Chief?, ... ?
I would have thought Kern Co would have been one of the most sane counties.
Let’s get serious for a moment. There have been lots of studies that show a huge percentage of the population does not have a spare $400 and lives literally paycheck to paycheck. So by imposing a $1000 fine, what is the likely outcome?
The likely outcome for many of those getting the fine is either not being able to pay the fine and ending up in the modern equivalent of debtor’s prison or in going into payday loan or credit card debt at loan shark interest rates that will eventually destroy them financially.
For some with a spare $1000 it is just the cost of a little bit of freedom.
Remember in the SF Bay Area homeless are exempted from all of the shelter in place regulations. This is a good example of how liberals like to control the population. They don’t think about the consequences of their actions on individuals, they just want to herd all the sheep into the pens.
But release prisoners. Any sense to that?
And I’m like, stay home and you won’t, like, get fined.
Today is my one month anniversary of staying home. It is quite doable.
CHP is doing their stealth positioning all over the Bay Area to catch “Bad Citizens”
Guess, they feel they are in charge...
I don’t think they are following orders, Seig Heil, style.
They are acting over zealous and demonstrating how small they really are...
Interesting timing and number figure. They know everyone is getting 1200 dollars so they figure people have money. Too obvious to make it up to 1200 dollars.
Appears to me there’s one thing missing in all of this shutdown mess, and that would be commonsense.
If one is out jogging at a park with nobody else around where is the danger of transmission?
If a couple of guys go to a difficult to reach beach where the have to climb down a hundred feet of rock for some surfing, to get away from the house, the kids, the claustrophobia, and nobody else is there where is the cause for the local Harbor Patrol to call the cops, the Coast Guard, etc. to write them a citation as happened to a friend of ours last week in San Diego?
If nobody is around to transmit to, or from then where’s the offense against society? It’s all about power at this point.
The Police are NOT Your Friends, and remember they are “Just Following Orders”!
I’ve heard of many cases, but am only familiar with one case, which was by city PD.
Any lawyer will tell you the police are not your friends. Especially small town cops.
This is what my lawyer friend told me:
Out of the top graduates of the state police academy the upper 10% go to the state police force. These are the smart ones. Generally the good guys. They put in their 20-25 years and retire, move south. Live off their pension. They make good neighbors.
The next level down end up going to work for big cities. Career cops. Some are ok. Many end up corrupt. There is a big opportunity for payoffs in cash from the very guys they are should be putting in jail. You have seen the movies. They are all based on fact. Plus they deal with the scum of the inner cities all day. Most be alcoholics, etc. Some even eat a bullet.
The next level down from the academy end up in medium sized towns. They are not very smart. Many are knuckle heads. Some are OK guys too.
The last level coming out of the academy end up in small towns. They are the dummies. They also have a chip on their shoulder because they got passed over for all the good/higher paying jobs. These are the guys that love nothing better than to screw over Mr Average Citizen. They get off on it. They have a gun, but they never get to use it. These are the dangerous ones. Stay as far away as possible.
