I’d be curious to see the ratio when you leave the liberal arts and go into mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering... the hard science areas. I bet it evens out quite a bit.
My EE teachers seemed largely conservative.
Back at my university, MOST leftard instructors were in the liberal arts. Ironic. But at the Business department which was my major, they were mostly libertarian. They did not cringe when they said “profit margin” or ‘ROI’.
Not as much as you would think. Even those departments are under tremendous pressure from University HR departments to shift their hiring criteria. It does shift from the 9:1 ratio but that will change.
Probably 3:1 in engineering & hard sciences. Better but still shameful.
How many Communists professors outnumber Republicans? Remove the STEM professors and it is much more than 9 to 1.
