So when he signs the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act he woll lose 10x the votes of displaced IT workers.

Have any facts to back up that claim?

First you assume that the IT workers are Republican, I don’t know if they are or not.

There are few elections when the different vision for America has been so clear. On one issue if the President does on thing you don’t like, you will vote for a Democrat or stay home (which is a vote for a Democrat).

This is why I refuse to be a ONE ISSUE VOTER. Over the years I have observed politicians (from both parties) pander to one issue voters, telling them exactly what they want to hear and never meaning it. I would rather judge a politician on their action, not their words.

Between President Trump and the Democrats, his vision for America closely aligns with mine. That does not mean I agree on everything (I doubt anyone in the world shares the same views I have 100%) but for the most part I like what he is doing.

Sometimes you have to step back a bit to see what is really going on. I don’t know, but I would guess President Trump is playing world politics with all this. America can not go it alone in the world. Sometimes you need to provide a reason for another nation to not be neutral or an enemy.

I will leave it to the experts to read the tea leaves.

At least that is my opinion for what ever it is worth.

ONE ISSUE VOTER

Losing your job is a pretty big issue.

First you assume that the IT workers are Republican

I know a lot of newly minted Indian citizens they all hate Republicans. They look at Republicans as the new British. They are all mini Ghandis.

This is how yo lose blue collar and white collar voters. They will stay home.

Yeah that's the problem. He's not the President of the world.

“I would guess President Trump is playing world politics with all this.”

India is really the only possible replacement for China in several ways. They are the second biggest producer of Ph.D.s in the world, after the USA, as a source of specialty human capital. They are on track to pass the population of China, as a market (e.g. oil and gas). They are a democracy.

They have a long running border dispute with China, and China is the main sponsor of their main rival Pakistan. India, especially Modi, is really against jihadi terrorism.

Just this week, India dropped tax rates for investors, and especially lower for manufacturers. So clearly, we are aligned and coordinating on many aspects of our relationship. Kind of natural allies.
