The Founders knew a foreign born President would be an extreme danger for foreign takeover.
Not just foreign born, but also having foreign parent(s).
They did not choose “born a citizen” as suggested by Hamilton, nor did they choose native born, which is just born here, they chose natural born as the most restrictive term, someone who was NATURALLY a citizen because it wasn’t possible for them to be anything else.
