Mrs. Clinton didn’t want to do the hard work of campaigning, and it showed.
It is the nature of modern life, the notion that somehow, anyone is entitled to the prestige and the accouterments of success, without actually doing those things that are required to get there. This is a very “liberal” idea. Everyone wants to say, wear a flight suit, Aviator sunglasses, and a big watch. But they don’t want to go to West Point or the Air Force Academy and study fluid dynamics. They want to look cool wearing scrubs and a stethoscope, but they sure as hell don’t want to study about mitochondria and ATP and enter Residency and work their ass off 18 hours a day. Television hasn’t helped, they constantly see people with no particular job maintaining studio apartments and lounging around in a city with stratospheric rents.
Politics at the national level, Mrs Clinton seemed to think she was entitled to the office, simply because she was married to a president. I mean, I guess. What are her particular qualifications? Does she have a knack for politics? Is she likeable? Charismatic? Oh sure, she managed to collect credentials, but that’s not the same thing. I always detected an air of arrogance. She thinks of herself as a kind of royalty. And therefore actually campaigning - pressing the flesh, she didn’t like that too much.
