I suspect there’s another split - those who want to impeach now for the theater and those who want to wait until closer to the election to try to turn that. Both parties know the grounds are nonexistent, but the idea isn’t to remove from office because they know they don’t have the votes for that, it’s to damage Trump as much as possible. The real problem comes if they don’t even have the votes to impeach at all, which appears to be the case at the moment.

Exactly. They know their voters are persuaded by large print, top of the fold headlines, or by radio announcers excitedly parroting Dems/msm manufactured sound bites. So long as Dem dominated committees keep providing the optics and sound bites the media will creat fake news which will fool low info voters.
Damage to Trump will result. That’s all they ever expected. They may act like they believe the stuff they (Dems/msm) spout, but these are smart and connected people. They know the real facts, even though they lie with a straight face. I’ll never believe they (the elected Dems) are on the outside of the truth, and have simply been fooled by what they hear their msm “news” buddies spout.
