There are a ton of influential people pushing Mayor Pete because he is gay. It is that simple. He has a “husband”, was in the military reserve, served in Afghanistan and does not lisp. If he wins, is made veep or is even taken seriously, it will be a huge victory for the acceptance of gays in American society. That is what this is all about IMO. So when you see people pushing him, there is very likely a gay connection, whether it is personal, family or just ideological.
