Britt Hume is giving us a straight count, his conservative bona fides for the position he holds have been held in high regard by us for many years. I do not understand the need to reflexively round on Britt Hume with petty insinuations simply because he tells the truth about the evident histrionic skills of a Democrat candidate.

It should not be necessary to point out that Hume's comments are relative, that is, Pete Buttigieg is the best of the Democrat field for the assets of "raw political talent" and ability on his feet about which Hume carefully qualified his observation.

In limiting his praise by confining it to being superior to the Democrat field, Hume leaves the inference that the rest of the field is subpar indeed.

He did not say the Buttigieg is better than Trump and he carefully qualified his statements by noting that Buttigieg's policies on many subjects such as abortion are well out of the mainstream.

Why are we compelled to attack Britt Hume merely for stating that which is obvious to many?
