How could he possibly justify that?!
The man is obviously entirely lacking in moral fiber.

“How could he possibly justify that?!”
Corporations often give money to both parties; to the actual parties and to candidates running against one another. They do it to assure access so their concerns will be heard. They do it because it’s a bit harder to pass legislation that harms a supporter. My uncle, who was well known as the head of the local Republican party, went to see his Democratic opposite number in that man’s office. He explained that the new ordinance requiring all businesses to have a concrete parking lot “for snow removal” would cost more than his business was worth. He then said he wanted to make a donation to the party and wondered aloud what would be an appropriate amount. He was told $5000 so he wrote a check on the spot. The next morning an exemption was delivered to his office by messenger. (Yep, this is the way politics works.)
