nothing blase about my attitude.
I live in Virginia, which is a deep blue state.
I am in SW Virginia, Appalachia which you would think would be conservative. But you would be very, very wrong. Most of the people in my neck of Virginia are very liberal.
Being grossly outnumbered means there is little I can do to change anything.
Hopefully, it is different where you live.
Sorry, southwest Virginia is wildly conservative and republican. Your part of the state voted for Trump with 70 to 80% of the vote depending on the county. Also, check out the votes for Senators and Governors - all republicans win big. Your precinct may be blue perhaps, but your area is the most republican in the state, but a huge margin. It is so red, you can see it from space.
Are you down in Roanoke? Hampton Roads here.
Being grossly outnumbered means there is little I can do to change anything.
I know how you feel. I live in the Baltimore suburbs, where the best I can do is support the ONLY Congressional republican in Maryland’s delegation (Dr. Andy Harris).
While there appears no hope for my state, I do wish you well and pray that President Trump is right that all of the scandals surrounding Virginia’s top democrats will result in The Old Dominion flipping back to a RED state next year.
I had ancestors who lived in Frederick, Nelson, Floyd, and Patrick Counties. All of them went for Trump, some by a 2-1 margin or better.
